Free Resources for Christian Leaders

There is a fairly new site that is full of free resources for church leaders – Ministry 127. The folks at Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, CA gathered leaders from around the USA and abroad to create this great site. Not only will you find a wealth of articles on a variety of subjects, but there is also stuff for those involved in church media. My church used “Consider Christ” in a recent communion service; it is one of many videos available freely. There is also a growing collection of images for use in Powerpoint slides for sermons and announcements.

They add new resources constantly and it is all available for free! Below is a video introduction to the site:

New WordPress Plugin for Church Sermons

UPDATE: I released a Sermon Manager plugin for WordPress – available at WP for Church!

Ever since WordPress 3.0 was released, I desired to take advantage of custom post types to display sermons on our church website. I created something that is very functional for our church that I’ll be launching soon. (I’m very excited about the makeover our church site is about to get – I’ll be detailing it here when it is live!)

This week I became aware of a new plugin designed to take advantage of custom post types in WordPress. You can find all posts related to its development over at Tobias Labs. Development has been moving swiftly with several releases in the past week. read more
